ABSTRACT. Jan Potocki’s fortune in Italy appears to be inextricably intertwined with a pivotal chapter in our publishing history. As for the various Italian translations of the Manuscrit trouvé à Saragosse – his seminal work which effectively consolidated his position in the canon of European literary history – to date, no cataloguing work has yet been done. This essay attempts to bridge this gap and aims to present a comprehensive overview of the Italian editorial landscape pertaining to this author, offering a nuanced examination of the available resources.
